RetinaPharma™ is consolidating a solid pipeline of unique pharmaceuticals directed toward the prevention, treatment, rescue and recovery of neurodegenerative and neurovascular diseases. The primary products under development include the precision PhotoTarget™ intravenous drug carrier and the TonoPach™ a unique device for measuring intraocular pressure (IOP) in ocular hypertensives.
RetinaPharma is seeking collaborators for its products in development. It is seeking to partner with an appropriate pharmaceutical company for the development and marketing of certain product rights. In addition, the company is exploring out-licenses of its intellectual property. RetinaPharma has entered into a non-exclusive marketing and distribution agreement with Accentia Biopharmaceuticals, Inc., a national specialty pharmaceutical products and services company for some of its compounds and indications.
PhotoTarget™
The PhotoTarget™ drug carriers provide precise, intravenous delivery of drugs for tissue targeting. Its primary application is to obviate intra-ocular injections for delivery of drugs to the retina and choroid, including photodynamic agents, anti-VEGF's and siRNA's. It technology is based on thermally-labile liposomes to release encapsulated drugs. The PhotoTarget liposomes are used in combination with an optical device to facilitate the release of drugs to highly specific anatomical locations.
TonoPach™
RetinaPharma has developed the TonoPach, a portable simultaneous intraocular pressure (IOP) and corneal thickness measurement device. It has been developed for use in the diagnosis and treatment of the millions of patients improperly diagnosed for glaucoma and ocular hypertension.
